Mark laying training
Mark laying is a key skill required to support our open events, with the Race Officer regularly needing to make subtle adjustments to the course.
This training will cover hands on coaching of the following subjects:
- Use of the mark laying equipment eg GPS, Compass, Anemometer, Wind Indicator, Range Fider, Tide Stick etc.
- Typical Course Layouts used at Bala
- Use of Time & Distance Charts.
- Working with marks & setting accurately in position, including streaming of start pins & gates.
- Moving & Retrieving Marks
- Practical exercises both on the water & ashore
