A reminder of key club policies

Over the last few years, the committee has been reviewing the operating model of the club and following a review of the Constitution a few years ago, has ensured that we have the appropriate processes and policies in place.

These cover a range a of subjects including the list below and can be found here:

BSCPol01 - Code of conduct and membership disciplinary

The one policy we must have but hope we never have to use. As a volunteer ran club, we pride ourselves on having a strong fellowship and happy sailing community and this policy is in place to ensure that should a matter arise, we have a clear structure of expected behaviours and how we resolve matters.

BSCPol02 - Club boat loan scheme

The club as part of full sailing membership, has a small pool of boats to allow our members to get out on the water. This policy defines their use including the area of the lake they can be used on and any constraints regarding weather conditions etc.

BSCPol03 - Mooring and hardstanding allocation

With a small number of moorings and hardstanding being available, it is key that we are transparent as to their management and allocation.

BSCPol04 - Environmental 

As a SSSI site, we have a specific set of controlled expected behaviours regarding how we manage our foreshore and connected area and operations.

BSCPol05 - Diversity and inclusion

With the introduction of our Diverity and Inclusion Officer, we continue to monitor and develop good policies to help shape the future direction and understanding of this key subject matter within the club.

BCSPol06 - Powered craft

With high powered RIBs and small mobile O boats, it is important that we clearly define the operational requirements of any powered craft under our ownership and used for club operations.

BSCPol08 - Duties and allocation

As a volunteer ran club, the majority of our membership types carry a small number of volunteer duties. This policy gives us a framework to ensure everyone is clear of the expectations.
